Interlude: Evelyn

You’re right, it’s very effective to just have a full picture-story! 🙂 Poor Evelyn! Her family was so beautiful, all of them were so talented and good-looking.

Thanks! And I know, it’s super sad 😦 Killing them was very painful haha but it had to be done for the story!

They’ll always live on in a separate save file! 🙂

This is an awesome chapter. I think it worked how you wanted it to. I can definitely see this, like sometimes during movies you see memories without sound or maybe some type of music depending on what it’s about.
So sad how it happened.

Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙂 I’m glad that it worked! 🙂 It was definitely super sad and painful to do 😦 But unfortunately necessary for the story!

I didn’t think you had to do that, that must have been very hard. But then again, it looks like she’s a very important character in the story so she had to be there.

This was an amazing chapter 🙂 I actually started to scroll slower at the fire screenshots because it was so sad and shocking. That was a great way to… not write? LoL. I can’t wait for the next chapter!!!

A really effective and unusual way to tell this part of Evelyn’s story. And it sets it apart from the present as well in a really good way!

Thank you! (And thank you in general for checking out my story! haha) This chapter made me realize that I have a hidden love for wordless chapters (so much so that I have another one later in the story). I’m glad you enjoyed 🙂

Thank you! This chapter was always one of the trickier ones to screenshot. The effects actually weren’t so hard to do though!

I don’t usually see many Interludes in stories, but I loved this one!
Not going to lie, though: I looked at the third picture, and now I think I want that giant teddy bear.

Hahaha giant teddy bears are awesome 😉 XD Thanj you for your kind comment 🙂 I love doing these wordless interludes 🙂 There are *counts* 4 more sprinkled throughout my story, and my epilogue will be wordless too. They are so fun (and challenging) to do. Thank you for reading!

This was so nice! I really like how it illustrated Evelyn’s life a bit. And I especially liked the ending. Partly because it has the Grim Reaper in it, but also because there’s this feel of loneliness, confusion, and sadness told through pictures alone. Also, the pic with Evelyn watching the sky is really pretty and relaxing.

So sorry that Evelyn and her family loss their lives in a fire. You did a very good job at portraying it. I use tragedies like that to cover up game glitches or computer issues like when I have had to uninstall and reload my games and not all my story Sims could be saved. Did that a lot in my earlier days of playing Sims 3 as glitches and crashes were a common occurrence back then.
Great pictures portraying what happened Evelyn’s backstory.

Wow! This was awesome and moving. I felt like I really got to know Evelyn through this chapter and I felt for her when she died, the confusion and terror of suddenly being somewhere unexpected and realizing you could never go back. You didn’t need words. It worked perfectly without them.

Ugh! No words and my heart is still broken. So poignant without even uttering a sound. Well executed…my heart goes out to her.

That’s awesome that you explored a similar storyline before! I always loved that concept, so I really wanted to try it in a story 🙂
Thanks for your lovely compliment on this chapter too! I love doing wordless interludes every now and then.
Thanks again for reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of the story 🙂

Ah I love wordless interludes!! My first serious story had one, and it was super hard to pose. I’m just getting back into the Sims community after a long break, and you’ve come highly recommended. 🙂 x

I’m glad you also love wordless chapters! I adore them (but you’re right, so much work!!)
Thank you again and I hope you enjoy my story 🙂 (also, I wrote this story two years ago and had no idea what I was doing — my screenshot quality does get a lot better as it goes haha and writing too! :P)
Thanks again!
